Value Creation
We target companies in industries where we can effectively leverage the skills and experience of our managing partners and their professional networks. Unlike other more passive private equity firms, we seek to install the best management possible and then work actively with them on the strategic planning and day-to-day operations of our portfolio companies. Our focus is on large equity shares, typically a controlling share, in each company that we invest in, often acquiring a majority of the seats on the Board of Directors and sub-boards. We also make very selective investments in early stage consumer companies and fund our own business concepts, hiring experienced professional management to run them.

Strategic Planning:
Our managing partners bring substantial strategic planning experience through their years at McKinsey & Company and as C-level executives and board members at well-known consumer brands. We also regularly leverage our internal team of investment professionals, industry contacts, and external consultancies, banks and law firms in developing and implementing strategic plans for our portfolio companies.
Recruitment & Retention:
We seek to make investments in companies with strong and proven management teams in place where we can partner together to drive results. However, in many cases we leverage our industry contacts to recruit additional management or to upgrade key positions. In order to get the best out of our management teams, we ensure that we put in place the right incentives to attract, motivate and retain them.
Implementing Growth Initiatives:
We target companies with substantial growth prospects and work closely with management to develop and execute strategic initiatives across new distribution channels, brand building, new product development, strategic alliances, and other areas to foster this growth. Our goal is to boost not only sales but also EBITDA and operating cash flows, so each growth initiative must also advance this complementary objective.
Improving Operational Performance:
The ability to improve operating margins is a key factor in many of our investment theses, and we spend a great deal of time during the due diligence phase to create specific action plans and efficiency targets to add critical points of margin to the bottom line. Our team has deep experience analyzing and improving cost structures through operating efficiencies, capex decision-making processes, budgeting and incentives.
